From what I have John and Jane came to California ca 1860. I did find the christening record for Thomas on the Australian Vital Records Index, Family History Resource Files CD. I don't know how to go about getting the original record, or if it is worth it? Would it have any more details about John and Jane's parentage?

I have more information on the descendants of this line. If anyone is researching these families, I would love to hear from you. If anyone has any clues as to how to research the family in Australia, I'd be very appreciative.

Thanks!
Mel

Hello Melody
What a magic name you have, do you know of this site:
http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/
you can go in and find most people who were born/married etc in NSW

and maybe this one can help with shipping:

Thanks for the compliment on my name.

I have not heard of either of these websites. While I've done a great deal of work in San Francisco, Australian research is new to me. I am going to check them out right now.

Thanks so much!
