LAKE ARTHUR — Funeral services for John L. Peacock, 79, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, in Miguez Funeral Home.

The Rev. David DeWitt will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.

Visitation is from 1 p.m. Saturday.

Mr. Peacock died at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, in a Tomball, Texas, hospital.

He was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur. He retired from Superior Oil Co. as a supervisor after 40 years. He worked three years for Mobil. He was a member of Lake Arthur United Methodist Church and was a deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Peacock of Magnolia, Texas; one son, Larry Petitjohn of Lake Arthur; two brothers, David L. Peacock of Kerrville, Texas, and Jimmie Peacock of Magnolia; one sister, Lucille Sanford of Conroe, Texas; and three grandchildren.
