Searching for information or connections re: my Pennsylvania ROOT family:

Sebastian RUTT (perhaps the immigrant Bastian ROOTES listed on the Philadelphia passenger list index as arriving in 1732, no ship name listed?) bought land in Pottsgrove, Chester Co., PA, He later resided Bern Twp, Berks Co., and then Coventry, Chester Co., but kept the land in Pottsgrove until his death in 1793, when his children sold it. Sebastian RUTT m. Anna Maria (no surname known) and had a son Jacob ROOT.

Jacob ROOT (possibly a soldier in the Revolutionary War per family stories), m. Catherine (possibly KREEK?).

Jacob ROOT and wife Catherine had a son, also Jacob ROOT, who m. Catherine Mary SEYFRET, called Mary. Her surname was a/k/a SAFRIED or SAFREED. Was she the daughter of Michael SYFRET and wife Margaret of Whitpain Twp, Montgomery Co? This would make her the sister of Baltzer SEYFRET. Jacob and Mary are buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery, N. Coventry Twp., Chester Co. Mary's second husband, Henry SABOLD, is buried with them.

Jacob ROOT and his wife (Catherine) Mary SEYFRET had a son, Eli S. ROOT, b. abt 1818 in Chester Co., PA., who was variously a carpenter, feed merchant, and farmer in N. Coventry Twp. His property was located across the street from what is now Mt. Zion Cemetery, where he and his parents, etc., are buried.

Eli S. ROOT m. Sarah PENNYPACKER, daughter of Richard PENNYPACKER and his wife Catharine ROBERTS.

Eli and Sarah had seven children, among them daughter Mary Jane ROOT, b. 25 Sept. 1844, who married Henry Harrison WANGER, son of Jacob WANGER and his wife Elizabeth UMSTEAD.

With Mary Jane's marriage, the surname changed from ROOT.

I'm always happy to receive any little clue that might help in my search for more information on the family. Thanks!
