Owens from Mississippi
I'm trying to find any Owens that might be related to me. My father William Henry Owens was born in Houlka Mississippi and passed away in Racine Wiscousin. I'm also looking for more information about Norsis Conner Owens.
Clotee Owens Moore departed this life on Friday, June 22, 2007 from Beloit Memorial Hospital. She was born August 31, 1916 to the late Curt Owens and Norsis Conner Owens.
She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age, and joined Bethehem Baptist Church.
She joined in holy matrimony to Mr. Robert Lee Moore in 1932. To this union, six children were born. She worked alongside her loving husband for many years as a sharecropper. She also worked as a domestic in private homes and as a cook for the Houston High School.
After the passing of her loving husband in 1984, she moved to Beloit, Wiscousin. There she became a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she served on the Mother's Board, Senior Choir, Missionary Society, and the Hot Lunch Program.
She leaves to mourn per passing her loving children, Mrs Ludean (Fred Curtis) Lockhart of Beloit, Reverend Bobby (Christine) Moore of Davenport, Iowa, Mr. Jimmy Moore of Beloit, Mrs. Gwendolyn (William) Toles of Clarkson, Michigan, a sister Adelle Jernigan of Nettleton, Mississippi, two sister-in-law, Arlee Owens and Clevis Owens, a daughter-in law, Marcie Moore, sixteen grandschildren, 24 greatgrandchildren, eleven great-great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, relatices and friends, special friend including Mother Odella Roberson, Mother Lula B. Brown, Mother Mary Tubbs, and Mother Mary K. Bond. She was preceded in death by her husband, two children, one grandchild, two great-grandchildren, five brothers, and three sisters.
Funeral services will be 12:00 pm Thursday, June 28, 2007 in Emmanuel Baptist Church, Beloit. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at Hansen-Gravitt Funeral Home, Beloit. and one hour prior to the service Thursday at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Houston, Mississippi with a vistation from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Bethleham Baptist Church, Houston, Mississippi.
