Robin,

I have found interesting info about General William Rein Peck.  He was quite a man and a leader.  If we are kin to him, it is not through the Peck line.  William was descended from a German family that were Beck, until they came to the colonies.  Our Peck line are from England.

However, since many of your relatives occupied the same area as his relatives, you could be related another way.  You are related to the previous Bush presidents in that manner!

I will look into the relationship to William Rein Peck.  I had never known about him.  I have sources that might show how he is connected.

If you already know the connection, please share.

Thanks,

Al

I have studied James Madison Peck a lot.  He was a slave owner in 1860 and would have had Confederate sympathies.  I have seen quite a bit written about him, but nothing about him being a soldier.  I have suspected that his first son might have been in the Civil War as he was born in 1839 and never mentioned again after the 1860 census.

James was my gggrandfather also.  I have a lot on the Peck history, including your line (Rodam, Guy, Robert, Robin).

I will share whatever you want to see.  There has been much written written about James Madison Peck.  He was wealthy and an early settler to western Kentucky.  His children were generally doctors and lawyers and well educated.

The son I am descended from, Edward Atchinson Peck, was a farmer that was an early settler in Oklahoma, before statehood.
