Hi - Are you related to William H Poole who fought in the Civil War with the Louisiana Tigers. He was killed at Gettysburg on the second floor of the McCreary House along Baltimore St.. He was a sharpshooter and was firing at Union forces on East Cemetery Hill. Unfortunately, he tried to hide behind an oak table that he had turned on its side. A Yankee sharpshooter fired into the table killing William on the spot. The table is in the visitor's center in Gettysburg. One of his relatives was in Gettysburg a couple weeks ago and I got to talk with him and show him where the Louisiana Tigers fought and the location of the McCreary House. I work across the street at the Farnsworth HOuse.
