The Genealogy & Family History Social Network

I think it is true, "A picture says a thousand words." Often, in the eyes of people, you can see a story. Be it a weary life, or the presence of a spirited individual, photos of our loved ones past and present are priceless. Those of us fortunate enough to have images of our ancestors should consider posting them for other family members to save and add to their genealogy database. I am an amateur photographer, but have a love of captured moments in history, be it people, places, architecture or nature. We are so lucky to have such technology available to us as a camera and even more lucky, those who have digital. Please consider making use of these wonderful pieces of equipment in your daily lives. I save files, put them on cd's as an archive and have them for future oppurtunities to share. Also, documenting via photography family events and posting them, is such a gift in itself to other family members who are not as fortunate to have a camera at hand. So many new sites now offer you the oppurtunity to post albums and share. Just something to consider.....

I agree, Pam! Only recently have I become a "picture taker," and I certainly wish I had started sooner. I am also slowly uploading albums to flickr. Definitely a good decision, I think. ~Stephanie
