Thank you Sherry. I feel welcome now. It will be awhile before I learn how to use this site. I have my Malcolm DNA at Sorensen but I haven't got a clue on how to read the results or search for a match. It's greek to me! Hopefully I'll learn something here.

Sherry,
Thanks for the information on Thomas Shepherd. I do have some info on him, but the info on the town name and state changes is helpful.
I checked out my Priest line and there is no John Priest listed. He may be an off-shoot line, but so far I've kept to the direct line because there are so many people there to get figured out.
Thanks for your help.

You have a nice website, what program did you use to create it?

I've tried to take the picture off but do not know how things work here yet. Can I resize it on the site?

Thank you for remembering my birthday.
I'm looking forward to participating in your group. My Great Grandmother ,Mary Catherine Ratliff was born in Pulaski County Virginia.
Her parents were William F. Ratliff & Frances Moore.
She was born 1856 & died 1918.

Thanks Sherry for the info. Goins is from my father-in-law's side and includes Choctaw Indian's in pedigree. Also had a Texas Ranger on his side so glad to see that connection on your page.

Thanks for the welcome. My husband's family is both Powell and Jones, but I don't recognize either name from his genealogy. The Shipp is probably related to my family since some of the Shipps left GA and settled all over AL. I don't recall a Joe Shipp in my direct line.
