Richard Davis (4th gr grndfather) born 1778 in Jaffrey, NH. He married Sarah Garfield.

Richard Davis(5th gr grndfather) born 1749, Sudbury, MA. He married Lois Whitney who was born in Rindge, NH.

Randall Davis (6th gr grndfather) born 1720 in Weston, MA.

I have more but would be children and places of death.

I grew up in a small town about an hour away from where you were. Harrisburg was a trip to the big city for me. :-)

I have to confess I was last there in 1979 and, as I said, not much interested in history then. People do change!

I went to college there, and there is a wonderful b&b there called the Colby Hill Inn. I was not into genealogy during the time I was there, but do know the owners named the inn for the geographic area, which implies it was a big name in the town. NEHGS (New England Genealogical and Historic Society www.newenglandancestors.org) in Boston might be a good place to research, if you're not already a member. I do not recall every having heard of a historic or genealogical society in Henniker. Of course, it was quite a while ago that I was there, so things could have changed.
