GISP stands for Certified Geographic Information Systems Professional. GIS is Geographic Information Systems -- or computer mapping and analysis. GIS is what I used to create the maps in my report.

Hey, nice looking "Golden" in your photo. I'm sure it would get along great with my Golden "Daisy".

I just realized I'm going to miss your presentation on Sunday. We'll be vacationing in ME without computer access. Any chance it will be recorded? I'd be interested in hearing if any of the participants are use GIS. Please feel free to refer them to the report I sent you a link to.

Hi Jim,

I hope to participate in the chat on Indian paths in PA. I'm orginally from the Susquehanna and Lehigh valleys. I've just completed a project to map an Indian Bay Path through Sturbridge, MA. My report is available at http://files.healthgisguy.com/BayPath/Bay%20Path%20Final%20Report.pdf.

At this point I do not have the counties. I know some are from Pa. Frank F. Avery's birthplace so far is unknown to me...he is my g grandfather and moved to Iowa at some time. Avery's had a township in Ia named for them but I have been unable to locate where it was. Read it was near north Ia border, yet near Humboldt, Ia. also. He was related to Avery's in Humboldt.

Hi Jim,
My father in law, Warren Knapton, grew up on the Colby farm in Henniker, NH with Al Colby and Buelah; she was a telephone operator in Henniker Center. I forwarded this information to Warren so he could add information if you would like.

Thanks Jim--I was just in Borris and actually walked the old family farm which was quite a treat, so if she has any Quinns in that area, or in Quebec, I would be very anxious to hear from here.

Hi, Not that I know of about the Byrne's in NY but I've only got my late husband's father and grandfather so I'm not very far on but I think they were Irish. Thanks anyway. I don't suppose you know of a William Steward who married someone called Mae and lived in the first place in Mosby, Montana in the early 1900's? I can't seem to find their marriage or death certificates. William and his brother George were born in Hull round about 1892/94. Sorry but i know I'm going off subject. Barbara

Jim, I have no way of knowing--all I know is that Mary Byrne was my GGGGrandmo, and she presumably came from Borris, Carlow or one of the surrounding parishes. There were a lot of Byrnes in the area, and I have no way of knowing which ones were related. I do know that Mary died before 1846.

Sorry, and good luck with your search. If you come up with any leads for a Byrne related to a Quinn, let me know.
