- For what reason did you start genealogy research?
- I was always the kid in class who didn't know what his ancestry was. "Where did your ancestors come from?" was the one question in school I couldn't answer. My family was little help. But from what I've gathered I finally know why no on really knows where we came from. Most of my people have remained in the same same state all their life. Even back to beyond the 1800s. I'm still working on this.

Dealing with ambiguous records.

So, I'm sure that I'm not the only person who has hit a wall in their genealogy research at one point or another. Most of the time, a lack of record is what results in it, but what about when a record gives little to no useful information?
