Thank you for responding. My grandmother Ellen Eliza Francke , born in Devonport (Stoke Damerel) in 1869, was the daughter of James Harvey Francke/Franks/Frank and Mary Jane Martin. Her father James was a stoker in the Royal Navy. Ellen had one brother, Alfred James ( b.1858), and two sisters, Alice Mary (b.1863) and Leah Elizabeth (b.1867), all in Plymouth. One of the sisters, Alice Mary(?) married John Davey and they had a daughter Lillian. Ellen married William Owen, a sapper in the Royal Engineers. They had six children, including my mother Mary Georgina Owen (b.1911) in Southampton. She and her brother Alfred James Owen (b.1913) were placed in the Middlemore Home in Birmingham and taken to Canada.in 1922.
I would ;like to find my living relatives in England. Would this Francke family be part of your genealogy??? Any information will be greatly appreciated.
