am searching for more information about the immigrant ancestors of my greatgreatgrandfather, Jacob Wimer/Wymer/Weimer/.Weimert/Waymert who was born on 16 Sept 1798 in Maryland and baptized at Emanuel or Baust Church in Fredericks County, Maryland, on 10 Nov 1798. He married Esther Piper in Ligonier, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania in 1827.  He had a brother, Samuel Wimer, who was born on 8 Sept 1800 on baptized 26 Oct 1800 at St. Mary's  Lutheran or Kriders Church in Silver Run, Maryland.  Parent's are listed as Jon. Waymert & mother as Marg. no last name The sponsors of Jacob are listed as Jacob Bishoff & Louis Erbachin, both single.
Jacob & Samuel took their families west to Clermont County, Ohio about 1845. They are found in the 1850 census listed as Wymer and Wimer. Samuel went on to
Missouri where I found only the wife, Jane Wimer & several of their children living in Livingston County, Missouri. Trying to connect ot Matthius Waymert as the father of Jon Waymert.   I can trace from Ohio in 1850 onwards but not much is known about Pennsylvania or Maryland roots.
