Wanda, If you want to give me your email address I will forward my conversations with Sorenson. I really don't want to post it here.

I would appreciate any information on how to use the results for our DNA testing. My brother hasn't had his DNA tested (and I think he doesn't want to do it.) When I got hold of one of the employees (on the phone), she said that it covers…
Wanda,
I forgot to add that I've had an ongoing email discussion with Sorenson about this subject. Their answer indicates that I should go to GeneTree to get my brother's DNA profile. Very confusing. I'd be happy to pass on this…
Hi Wanda,
I agree. I think that the least Sorenson could do would be to run it through their computer and give you the top matches. As it is now I would not reccommend Sorenson because they offer no help. You have to be a scientist to decifer the…
Carleen, I also have the Sorenson DNA and haven't a clue about how to read the stuff. The way they explained it, I would have to check all the people that are listed as the best matches---that's something over 15 pages full of people!…
Hi Sherry,
Thank you for your offer to help and letting me know of your sites. It will be a must read soon for me! I do have ancestry already, and I do go to the LDS church site and work on some of the paf files.
I do get a little on the free side…
Hi Sherry,
Thanks for the invitation. My Rogers originally came from SC and moved to Mississippi, around the Covington county area. There was one branch that moved from Miss. to LA and some from there moved into TX, around the Houston area…

I'd be happy to pass on this correspondence if you would like.I can email it to you. Maybe there is an explanation in there that will help you? I, however, am still baffled.

I don't know enough about the Rodgers/Rogers to know if it is or not...that is why I started the gorup. My hope was that others who have Texas Rogers would join and maybe I would stumble upon my Rogers. All I really know is here:
*Dorah Angelina Rodgers, b: July 1844 Alabama, d:Hardin Co.,TX; m: Jan 31, 1861, Woodville, Tyler Co., Tx, Divorced: April 7, 1896 Hardin Co.TX, is the d/o Joseph & Elizabeth Rodgers/Rogers. They first appear in the 1860 Hardin Census as "Rodgers" and then in the 1870 Census as "Rogers". Joseph is thought to have been born 1811. There has been a suggestion that Joseph's father was Hugh Rodgers of Flint River, Madison Co, MS, who is listed in the 1810 Territorial Census.
In the 1860 Census their birth place is listed as Unknown. In the 1870 census, he states he is from NC and she (Elizabeth) states she is from SC.. Truth is...I don't know.

I agree. I think that the least Sorenson could do would be to run it through their computer and give you the top matches. As it is now I would not reccommend Sorenson because they offer no help. You have to be a scientist to decifer the code enough to make a match. I only have one page on my Malcolms but I have no way of knowing which of the markers is important and the values of those markers in regard to rarity. I cannot guess to what degree I may or may not be related to the few others on that list. Very frustrating!

I do get a little on the free side of footnote and definitely would like to have someone check out some things on the site.
This has been an ongoing project for about 20 years now...off and on. Mostly off. But I do have some good information on my family lines.
