Wade Hampton Borin-Saint Names on Marriage Certificates West Virginia

It is not possible that “John” was Oliver Burden’s saint name as has been suggested. Saint names were never placed on marriage certificates according to the Director of Archives and Records, Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston in Wheeling, West Virginia.

My great grand father was Wade Hampton Borin. His father was John Borin, as indicated on Wade's marriage certificate. Wade fought on the Union side in the Civil War with the West Virginia…
