I am researching Robert (G. ?) Taylor. His tombstone says he was born 1808, Kentucky, and he died 1906, Carroll County, Arkansas. He may have been born a bit later than the tombstone says. From 1880 to death he was in Carroll, Arkansas. In 1870 he was in Lawrence County, Missouri, and from 1845 to 1860 he was in Adams County, Illinois. I know about three wives he had from 1845 on. Before that date he is a mystery. He may have had another wife and older children. I researched all wives and children. My husband descends from Robert's youngest child, Thomas, born in Arkansas.
Other researchers claim his father and mother or step-mother are buried in Denson Pioneer Cemetery in Ursa Twp., Adams, Illinois. This is on www.findagrave.com. The tombstone says Robert Taylor, died May 5,1947, in his 75th year. There is a land claim in Adams County, IL in 1840, to Robert W. Taylor, assumed to be the older Robert. He was probably Robert Wesley Taylor, born about 1772, in (Guildford?) North Carolina. His wife, or last wife was Jane Gilliland according to whoever posted on findagrave.com. I have not seen proof of this. Another researcher believes Robert was in South Carolina before Illinois, and had other wives.
Does anything sound familiar?
I have other Taylor lines in my tree on my side of the family, but they need seperate posts.
So far I have no documents that link my husband's Taylor family to your George or William , but I am having to really work for any documents on this family. His family says they had relatives around Kansas City. What is the birth dates of George and William?

Robert Taylor appears to have been in Jefferson County, Kentucky before Adams County, Illinois. I now have Taylor DNA evidence.
Sorry, it took so long getting back to you. Do you know anything about Taylor in Sumner, TN in early 1800's.
