Mary I live in the Clonoe area. There is a website called Irish World which is based in Coalisland Co Tyrone and it has alot of information on births, marriages and deaths in Co Tyrone. It's free to join but there is a 5euro charge for each record you would like to view. Also I find that the website Emerald Ancestors has alot of information too and you can join this for a fee per month. Also maybe try the National Archives of Ireland. They have the 1911 census online and it's really very good. They are just to put the 1901 census online mid 2010.. I wish you luck, Catherine

Not sure what Shields family you are researching but I am researching Shields my self. My Shields married Butler and Ballenger families. They are from Illinois and I have found a trace back to Ireland but I have so many stacks of papers on different sides of the family and I can't find them yet. Trying to get organized! :)

Any way, thought we could compare notes and see if there is a connection.
Look forward to hearing from you,
Frances Baer
