I was looking thru a book site and this index lists about 20 Thorpe references in VA, one Major Thorpe, you might want to look at some of the publications for more info on your Thorpes:

So those might hold alot of information to help you out if you could find them in a library, genealogical society, or borrow them or get lookups???

Hi Laura, I was in the chat room and saw you post about Thorpe, etc. what was Major's name and time frame, etc. I'm looking in some resources I use alot. What kind of info do you already have? I believe you said you were lookign for his parents? Anything else?
