I just read your email and I have a SCHMIDT in my records. Christini SCHMIDT married Johann David BAUER. Their descendants eventually moved to Pennsylvania where many of them still are. I'm not sure of Christini and Johann's birth/death dates/places, but their son, Charles Albert BAUER was in U;m, Germany in 1837. He died in Pittsburgh.
Sound familiar at all?
