I uncovered this tombstone of Thos Trafford at the "Mary the Virgin" graveyard two weeks ago. It was originally covered by the bush you see in the background. It is made of a sort of Slate type structure and very brittle. As you can see, the name is clear enough but most other details gone. My daughter and I planted a miniature rose bush in memory.

Hi Cathy - I put a reply to this posting in the "Traffords of Oxfordshire" group.  I found this same gravestone in 2009, but unfortunately it is not our Thomas.  This Thomas died in 1853, age 55 - our Thomas died in 1843, age 76.
