The original plaque which had been in my family for over 100 years was recently damaged beyond repair. Another plaque has been created to continue the memorial and to tell the story of six family members who died at a young age.

We miss the faces, we miss the hands,

Whose lightest touch seemed born of love,

Only in dreams can we recall

The saintly forms that dwell above.

And yet we know their tender hearts,

Yearn to assuage the tears we weep;

We know that in the darkest night,

Those faithful angels guard our sleep.

This plaque was created to memorialize family members who died of consumption (tuberculosis).  The  house in which they dwelled should have been condemned  instead it was rented to Simeon Blessett and his family. After the death of his children, a court ordered plaque was created in their memory.
