Stephen Thomas Jones was married to Elizabeth Larroe McKnight of Delaware. Stephen Thomas Jones was born in Maryland and served on the Delaware State Militia. He travelled through North and South Carolina through Georgia to Alabama during the Creek Indian War and War of 1812. His brothers Isaac, Samuel and his sister, Elizabeth Jones migrated with him and his family. Elizabeth Jones married Richard Barrow. Isaac Jones married Mary Burns. Other siblings either remained in Maryland and his brother Jacob Jones and other family members migrated to Ohio during the same timeframe. Stephen Thomas Jones and Elizabeth Larroe McKnight had the following children: Mary Emiline Jones, Abraham "Jack" Jones, John P.M. Jones, Green E. Jones, Furman "Furney" Jones, Tapley H. Jones, William Jefferson Jones, James T. Jones, E.W. Jones and J.W.Jones. Stephen Thomas Jones' parents were William Jones, born in Joppa Maryland, 1723, and Elizabeth Williams born in Somerset Maryland, 1733. They lived in the Lower Bush River in Maryland.
