Itsvery possible, but there were two of them. One was in Washington co. and the other was in frederick county. It gets very confusing. The one from frederick county was from pennsylvania also.

One more thing, over on my discussion group Wolford-Wohlford etc families, there is a post from someone working on Johann Adam of Maryland. Could be you two are working on the same guy.

Robert, have you seen Elaine Wolford's research? She has info on Adam. I have a complete set of her work on the family, just need to find it.

According to the records he went to washington County Maryland and bought a tract of land that is now in Williamsport area. He raised 13 children with Eilzabeth reitenhauer.

Is seems to me I saw a reference to his migration somewhere. Once Adam got here, do you know where he and descendants went to? There were Adams in Western PA and Ohio.

Hello jim , thats a good question. Im trying to link my Adam wolford/wohlfahrt to the wohlfahrt family that came from the Wurttemburg/Waiblingen area. My Adam wohlfahrt was listed as a orphan from that area. In trying to locate him in the emigration records, ive open up more questions that i have answers to. He was literate, he was married in Philadelphia in 1757, to Elizabeth reitenaeur. I believe he landed in philadelphia in 1750, but i need to find the ship he landed in and his naturalization papers.

I also have a Wolford-Wohlford group here. I descend from Johannes Wolford (various spellings) and Anna Maria Agatha (Zimmerman??)who landed in Philiadelphia 3 Sept 1739 on the ship Friendship. They eventually settled in Berks Co in 1749 and he died in 1751/52. They lived in the area of Rehresburg in Tulpehocken Twp. Anyone else here related to him? Where are your Wolfords from
