Yes, most definitely. Mary Perkins was the sister of James Perkins, from which my line is descended. Mary's parents were John Perkins [b. abt 1700] and Mary Unk. I have Mary and James Watts being the parents of 10 children. Please let me know if you have anything different, as not all of this info has been researched by me yet.
I guess my first question would be Perkins v. Parkins? I had another family researcher who helped me out some with this line. Most of the info I have has come from them.

2nd of all, I did NOT have Mary's last name - so if you have a source on that to confirm it, that would be great! If not, I'll make a note as such - but at least it gives me a lead to go with!

Here's what I have...let's compare notes - (and lets hope I can attach this file correctly!) This goes only as far as the Watts family that marries into my Hulbert family.

Perkins vs. Parkins?

Ah.... that is the question!!! I have referred to various documents in Greenbrier County [my gr-gr-grandfather was Samuel Perkins, who was the founder of the Mt Vernon ME Church at Ft Springs]. I have seen members of the same family sign their names both ways. Indeed, old Samuel himself was one who signed it both ways! Several years ago, when I first started doing any research, and before I knew I should be documenting and sourcing everything, I read an article that stated the original name was PERKINS, and about 1856 or 1857, after the death of Samuel, the name was legally changed in court. However, I have searched through Greenbrier County records until I think I know every clerk at the courthouse and historical society by first name! No luck in proving that!

As for a source for Mary Perkins who married James Watts: I have only the work of two other researchers whom I have relied on. Again, this branches off of my main ancestral line, and I have not taken the time to research it myself. Neither of these individuals gave me a source. I can tell you that in "THE TUCKWILLER's OF WEST VIRGINIA", John Perkins is named, and it states he has 3 children, although their names are not given. I have John's 3 children [via the other researchers] as: Mary [b. abt 1750, d. bet. 1830-1840 in Greenbrier Co]; Elizabeth [b.abt 1755, d. 12 Jun 1825, Greenbrier Co.; m: John Williams]; and last is James [b. 21 Nov 174, d. 25 Mar 1825 in Greenbrier Co., M: Elizabeth Bondurant].

I keep telling myself I'll get to this one day...and then I get another client who is needful of their research, and off I go!

Your research matches what I have for James Watts and Mary Perkins.

I have some add'l items in my Perkins file that you may be interested in - let me go through what you've got here, and I'll get back with you!
I was given a transcription of a will for John Perkins of Prince George's Co., Maryland as well as an interesting little story about a little book at one time owned by Mary Perkins Watts. I thought I had both of these saved somewhere, but all I can find are the paper copies that I printed out. These were both provided to my by a Mr. Earl E. Parkins. Have you been in touch with him or heard of either one of these items. Let me know, I'd be happy to share them on here.
