I am researching the Nunan/Newnan Wells line from Buncombe Co., NC. There is a lot of confusion as to who his father was. He married Harriet Mitilda Katherine Garmon in 1836 in Buncombe Co. Their 2nd child, Laura Caroline, first married William Patton Palmer, who was killed in the Civil War. She then married Thomas Jefferson Hendricks, my ggrandfather, in 1869 in Cooke Co., TX. Anyone who can help with the Wells line in NC?

My Wells ancestors are from the county of Kent, England. Is anyone else researching there?
