Confederate Units

An ancestor of mine was in 1 State Troop MS Co D according to the records I received. Ancestry.com has Pvt Edward Dunning (my ancestor) as in 1st Infantry Reg MS. Does any know if this is the same company?

Wayman is diffinently a relative. Edward named his son after this gentleman and Edward grandson named his son after Wayman. I need to find out who this Wayman is!! I will look into these other gentleman. Thank you sooooo much.

Hello,
I would search both your ancestors name, and these two units online at the soldiers and sailors system.
There you will be able to see if these units are the same and a little history about them. Just do a search and type in soldiers and sailors.
