Cathryn,

Do you have any kinship with Harmon Hensley born about 1780 in TN. His son Charles Hensley was born 9 Mar 1811 in Maury Co.
Harmon's son John Motely Hensley married my 4th gr-grandmother's sister, Mary Pryor.
Harmon's son James was shot and killed in Austin Co, TX in 1841. A grand jury trail, ruled that the killing was justifiable.
We believe James is the ancestor of my daughter-in-law and his son Joel married a niece of my 4th gr-grandmother.

Needless to say, I am interested in the Hensley family even though they are not blood kin. They are kin by marriage 3 different ways.

Harmon Hensely died in San Felipe de Austin 4 June 1834. I have that he was the son of William Hensley and Jane Coleman.

Unfortunately none of my direct HENSLEY line was in Tennessee until I moved to Tennessee first in 1996 to 1998 and then again in 2003 to present. My direct line of HENSLEY went from Harlan County, Kentucky to Benton County, Indiana area and then dispersed from there in the 1970's.

I can do some HENSLEY research at out local archives though and I do know we have a "small vertical file" on the HENSLEY family.
