My gx2 grandmother Anna Stina Jansdottor was born 17 Jan., 1820 in Daretorp. Her parents were ; Jonas Andersson & Cajsa Andersdottor.

Most of Anna's children were born in Stenbacken & Härja.

What do I need to do, should I repeat my original inquiry on the Lundqvist's of Ostra Gerum here?

How do I find out what information is in the 1900 census?

I wrote an answer yesterday but it seems to missing here.

Have been doing some research since then, and the result is in the file.

Annelie,

Thank you very much for all that information.

Would this mean that all the children were still residing in Sweden during 1900? The earliest I see Alma, Axel or August in any US census is 1910, although Alma married my Great Uncle/Godfather in 1904. The emigration dates listed in the US census varies but it seems likely around 1900.

If you have a chance, could you identify what the places listed in Alma's place of birth represent?

Thanks again,

John

Annelie,

A relative found an Anna Lisa Johansdotter in Ancestry.com with the same birth date as was in the information you found. It had Anna and being born in Rosentorp, Orsa, Kopparbergs, not Östra Gerum (no place of death). It also had Anna's parents listed, father (Johannes Johansson) born in Kvarn, Orsa with his death in the US and her mother (Lisa Persdotter) born in Rosentorp with her death in US.

I have my doubts on whether this is the same Anna Lisa Johansdotter, I don't think that my great aunt Alma's grandparents lived in the US.

Are there any records of Anna's parents in the Östra Gerum area that could counteract this other information?

John

Anna Lisa's parents:

Johan Struts B 18160424 in Valstad parish

Stina Maja Johansdotter B 18160922 in Vartofta- Åsaka parish

Anna-Lisa married the successor of the soldiercottage. He took the same name as his father-in-law.

Hello from Texas,

I am new to Swedish genealogy research, so please bear with me. My G-Grandfather, Kåre Gustav Napoleon Helling, was a secretive person and rarely told about his past or family. If he did it was in pieces.

I do not believe Kåre was born in this area, but there is a family tradition that his father, Karl Gottfrid Helling, was born in Kymbo about 1855 and also his Grandfather, Anders. Karl's parents were Anders Johannes Svensson Helling and Gustafva Johansdotter Qvist. I do not know when the "Helling" name started, but I'm guessing that someone in this family was in the military.

The birth dates have not been verified, so I'm not sure how accurate these are.

Anders Johannes Svensson Helling - born June 21, 1824

Karl Gottfrid Helling - born February 18, 1855

Thank you in advance,

George Kohler

Annelie,

Thank you very much! Just a few questions, can this Churchbook Kymbo information be found in Genline? Also, is Store Stockebacken, Stockbacken, Kymbo the same Kymbo Parish? I can't seem to find this on a map.

Again, Thank you very much!

George

Yes you can find the book on Genline.
