Where did your SINCLAIR's come from?
David SINCLAIR was born in Glasgow, Scoltand in 1836. He married Marion CUMMING in Irvine, Ayrshire in 1856.
David's brother, Matthew had already emigrated to USA after joining the Mormon church, but David and Marion took their 2 children to New Zealand where their third child, Catherine, was born in 1864.
The family did not like the seismic activity in NZ, (David said "the de'l is under there !") and the family moved to Australia where the 4th child was born in 1867.
The family settled in Wallsend and worked the local coal mines.
My grandmother, the youngest of 12, was born in Wallsend in 1880.
