Junius Fletcher "Punch" Nash, 1855-1931, first law enforcement officer for the city of Bastrop, TX

Punch Nash, b. Feb 22, 1855 Lexington, TX,; d. Sept 15, 1931, Corpus Christi, Nueces Co. TX, ; s/o Prof. John M. Nash, b. Dec 4, 1826 SC, d. 1904, Hico, TX & Sarah "Sallie" D. Smith, b. abt 1834, TX d. Jan 21, 1900, Hico, TX. Punch was City Marshall of Bastrop for 21 years then Deputy Sheriff. They left for Kleberg Co., TX in 1916.

Punch also was an owner in a stagecoach. He met and married Emma Jane Saxon-Bastian.

The 2nd image below was Punch's notebook where he'd write the items his prisoners wanted from the store. The photos are from his granddaughter Gloria Cothern.
