I am particularly interested in debunking the claim that James Shaw (1688-1718) who married Margaret Thompson, was born in Scotland and a transported Jacobite prisoner. My research indicates that he was born in Charles County, MD and married there. Also, I would like to discuss the findings of anyone who believes that this James Shaw was born or lived in Dorchester County, MD.
