Millers from Scotland to Quebec, Canada

Hi I am a decendant of this family. John's son James Miller married Eliza Lett in Wilberforce twp. Their son Charles married Frances Lyon.Gertrude Miller d/o of Charles and Frances married Peter Dick of Scothbush Ontario. Minnetta Dick d/o of Gertrude Miller and Peter Dick married Wilfred Fiebig. My mother Julia Gertrude Fiebig is their daughter . She married my father Gerald Davidson (s/o of Gordon Davidson and Frances Eva May Lampkie) from Pembroke in 1964. My great grandmother Gertrude Millers' sister, Inez Dennison ( Miller) b. 1903 just celebrated her 106th birthday in Cobden, On last Oct. (2009). She has been helping me work on my family tree. I also went to the Lett Family reunion held in Eganville August 2009 and purchased the book" Letts remember Letts".

My Great Great Aunt Inez Dennison (Miller) mentioned James had brothers that he lost touch with. On ancestry.com two people show he had a brother John who settled in Renfrew? I am seeking proof of this. Can you provide any help?

James Miller and Eliza Lett are my 3rd great grandparents. They had a son John Lett Miller who married Mary Ann Stewart and they had a son James, my great grandfather! Do you have ancestry membership? If you don't I will send you a link to view my tree. John, brother of James who married Eliza Lett lived in Renfrew. Hope I can help you out with your family tree.

I am on ancestry.com ( under davidson family tree- kimberleyreynolds_1) but not paying right now for access to view census and other trees. I had previously veiwed two trees( someone name mcarthur and another mcinnis) who had James Miller parents as John Miller and Ann Green. I knew James mothers maiden name was Green but did not have her 1st name. I have the info on James and Eliza's children. I was looking to go back further. I was trying to confirm if James mother was really named Ann and if he had a brother John who really settled in Renfrew so close to James in Wilberforce. When I spoke to the Millers cousins in Eganville they didn't have any info on James siblings although I remember my Aunt Inez telling me he was either one of 3 boys or had 3 brothers.
The two family trees on ancestry that have James having a brother John b. 1819 who was born in scotland and married in scotland made me wonder if this was the right john (if james was born in Lachute his brother john would of had to leave quebec and gone back to scotland get married and come back to canada) . I know it is possible but I would want to see proof. The other two trees also said he had a sister Mary but when I looked at the 1851 censes Mary was listed last and it listed her from ireland. John age 70, Ann age 61said scotland. James age 22and Thomas Miller age 30 canada . Did you try to go back any further ?

Hi Patricia, I wanted proof that John Miller 1819-1882 of Renfrew On was infact my g.g.g James Miller(spouse of eliza Lett) brother . This past weekend I was speaking to my 3rd cousin Barry Miller b. 1932 s/o of Herb Miller and Pearl Green grandson of Charles Miller & Frances Lyon. He may have confirmed this for me. He mentioned years ago while at a "Renfrew Fair" he bumped into some Millers from Renfrew (a Ewart Miller?). Apparentley this Ewart looked exactly like his father.

Hi Kim, John Lett Miller, son of James and Eliza Lett is my 3rd great grandfather!
Love to have any pictures you have of anyone that decends down through our common acestors James and Eliza.

Hi Patricia, Just wanted you to know and keep you updated Charles Miller (s/o James& Eliza) daughter Inez Miller b. 1903 Oct 2 (married name Dennison) passed away yesterday in her 107th yr. Services will be held Thursday and funeral Friday Aug. 13 in Eganville On.
