Looking for any info about William Pavey Barnes who I think was a boat Captian. Around 1775 is when I think he was born.

I found this extract in Google Books - 'One Family tradition states that William Pavey Barnes was bom in Aberdeen, Scotland' It comes from the book 'A history of the Barnes--McDowall families' By Nellie Barnes Veatch.
Depending on where you live, you might be able to read more of it online than I can. Otherwise, you may have to track the book down through your library.
