My only very specific Scots-Irish name is Cummings, a large family headed by the mother who came to New York state in 1798.  I think they were from Ballyskeagh but no proof.  No information on their trade.  They are the start of my mother's line.  Unfortunately, Cummings is a common name and also many variations.
