Thanks, Sally,

My Henry was believed to have had a father named William also.

Look forward to hearing more from you.

DL  there are sibblings, but I have to make sure I have everything in my program.  I am not sure of the names you listed but I will look more closely this evening.  It is amazing how many Reese's are out there!  I hope my information will help you when I get it all together.

Sally -

Did your Ben Franklin Reese have siblings? What more do you know about Ben Franklin's Father? Would this William have also had a son named Henry Reese? Would you have info of this William's location and where he migrated? How long he lived etc? I ask because I have a family account remembering a William (within the general time frame and location you mention) had a Henry and the Henry had a William who would have been my Great Grandfather Joseph Gideon Reese.

I would like to learn more from you Salley about your findings in that vinicity? Photos? ETC. Could you share more about your trip and searches here?

According to my family account source (deceased since 1960s - My William would have been buried within Washington Co Ohio, possibly in a friends family plot belonging to the Sheets family its suppected. Yet it is diffinately across the river from Willow Island Church and Willow Island Cemetary on the W. Virginia side of the river, where there are supposed to be Reeses buried in that Cemetary - I sure wish I could go there - namely one William Lewis Reese (my Great Grandfather) and one of his Great Grandsons Gale Warren Reese, in particular. I would like to know how may Reeses are actually there.

There possibly may be Bowens' there too as My Great Grandfather William Reese married an Eliza Bowen.

Do you have a tree online to share?

Kevin MCGIN below seems to be possibly be talking about the same.

Thanks,

DLReese

My grandmother, Selina Mae Reese, d/o Benjamin Franklin Reese, was born in Reeseville, Etna, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.  I have been trying to locate Reeseville and nobody has been able to find it on their maps.  There is a Reese Street now.  This past Sunday we, once again, made a trip to Etna to try locating the old house.  While there we took a side street and ended up at the Reeseville Veteran's Monument dedicated to all Reeseville military soldiers throughout our wars.  My ancestors listed were George T. Harford and B. Frank Reese.

I also have some of the same findings among the family lines concerning my Reese ancestors. I have learned that there are two Abrahams, father and son.

As it stands now I understand Abraham Jr to be the father of my GG Grandfather: Henry VanBuren Reec(s)e
Birth 10 Oct 1810 in Parkersburg, Wood, West Virginia, United States
Death 6 Nov 1893 in Ritchie, West Virginia, United States

So is my Henry Reese included among the children of Elisha and his brother Elijah Reese supposed children of Abraham of Orange Co. NC (as you mentioned)?  If so would you have any more info about these siblings and my GG Grandfather Henry Reese, if he is among them?

HI there, I am related to David Reese of N.C. I am the 4th gr grand son of Elisha Reese of Surry, N.C.; through several family trees and court documents Elisha zReese has always been referred to as a direct descendant of David Reese. But my research thus far is very thin making a solid connection. I have several document stating Elisha and his brother Elijah Reese father was an Abraham Reese of Orange county, NC and that his father was Solomon Reese, but I don't think it was Solomon Trustin Reese, though I could be wrong. I have been told that there are two Abraham Reese's in NC about the same time. Another source states that Abraham's father was Thomas Reese b.1720. If any of you have any comments please feel free to give them.

Hey, are some of yall talking about being descended from Solomon Trusten Reese versus James Reese, Sr.? As in sons of David Reese of Mecklenburg, NC?  My 3G grandfather is James M Reese b 1815 TN. A recent DNA test shows we are descended from David Reese the Signer of Mecklenburg, NC. However, we have no idea HOW! David Reese had 6 sons, 3 of which came to Tennessee: James, Charles, & Solomon. Solomon in particular is not well documented and very difficult to find in the records. Anybody know anything about him, his wife Harriet Jack, or their 2 sons & 2 daughters (James Jack, George, Susan & Harriet)?  Cathy

My Gr. Grandfather was Benjamin Franklin Reese.  He was born 20 Jul 1851, Shaler Twp., Allegheny County, :PA; married Sarah Marie Morris, in 1892, in Shaler Twp.; and died 11 Aug. 1896 in Shaler Twp.

Benjamin's Fater was William.  He was born 25 May 1821 in Etna, Shaler Twp.; married Sarah Ann Powers; died 26 May 1899.

I don't know if there is a link anywhere but it may be possible.

Hello everyone,  My Reece/Reese family lived in Oshawa, Ontario in the 1850's.  The patriarch, Lewis Walter Reese (1818-?) and a few of his sons (Lewis Walter and Benjamin Franklin (1858-1921)) were born in Ohio, purportedly Massillon.  This is  my brick wall though, I can't find them in Ohio.  Hope there's a connection!
