Great grandfather (Hiram Samuel Trullender) was born in Philadelphia, PA in Nov. 1804. His obituary says his parents died when he was a few months old and that he was raised by an aunt and uncle. However, it does not give any names. He does not appear in any census until 1840 in Union Co., Indiana. There's a possibility that he was raised in NJ as in some census he gives his birthplace as PA and some are NJ.

Hi-
I found a marriage record for a Hiram L Trullender, (it is a transcription of the record so the L could actually be an S) in Franklin, Franklin County, Indiana to a Ruth High. Marriage License date was March 13, 1833, Marriage date was March 21, 1833. It is on Family Search Labs.
Yes, that is he and my great grandmother. I have that information. I pretty much know everything after he came to Indiana. But, don't know where or from whom he came from before then. Thanks Kate.
Does his obituary list the namers of his aunt and uncle, we might be able to find them in Philadelphia directories?
No, it does not give the parent's names or the aunt and uncle's names. So frustrating. There is a Gabriel Drollinger who passed away in 1805 in Philadelphia and his wife just a few days before but they were in their 80's by then and I don't think would have had a son a few months old.
