Oxfordshire will transcripts online

Oxfordshire Family History Society is building up a "wills library" at www.ofhs.org.uk .

We've just passed a splendid milestone - we have over 3,000 wills on the site - in fact:

there are now 3,072 documents on-line, with about 36,300 name mentions.

These are all from transcripts submitted by OFHS members, and non-members too.  Our wills project co-ordinator, Dave Beames, formats transcripts sent to him, and is happy to help with transcription, and Alan Simpson has designed the database interface.

This is a free venture by OFHS - and the more contributions it has from everyone, the more hepful it will be to everyone!

Have you got a transcript sitting on your computer, in your desk drawer, or on the "to be filed" pile?  Or a will copy, plus a struggled-with transcript, perhaps?  Dave would love to hear from you!  At the moment he's 'caught up' and waiting for more!
