Quaker Records in Ontario
This summer I was given the original 1838 Marriage certificate/document for my great great great grandparents. I have had the document professionally stabilized, cleaned and scanned. I framed the scanned copy. The original is in archival materials. I was thinking of loaning or donating the original document to either Quaker Archives or a museum. What do you think? Is there such a place available in Ontario? The marriage took place at a Friends meeting in Norwich, Ontario.

Caroline - what a wonderful treasure you have.
Museums in general have so many documents and "goodies" that much of it lies in their basements, never to be seen by the public. A far better place is the Ontario Archives, which will catalogue and have the original available for all to view on request. -

Okay... here's another question then. I've been to the Norwich Archives and Museum in Norwich. They are great... they have lots of stuff. I have not been to the Ontario Archives... where are they located? Do you know if they have procedures in place to protect the document? The Norwich Archives do not. I just want it to be safe so that it is available for future generations, you know what I mean? I also have it soft copy on a CD.
