Your Joseph born in 1815

There were 7 Harris men enumerated on the 1820 Guilford Co., NC census report; Joseph Harris would have been about 5 years old:
Charles B, p. 87, 1m 10-16, 1m 26-45 [bet. 1775-1794]
James, p. 87, 2m < 10, 1m 10-16, 1m 26-45
Joel, p. 91, 2m < 10, 1m 10-16, 1m 16-26, 1m > 45 [bef. 1775]
John, p. 88, 3m < 10, 2m 10-16, 1m 26-45
Joshua, p. 91, 4m < 10, 1m 26-45
James, p. 91, 3m < 10, 1m 26-45
Simpson, p. 87, 1m 10-16, 1m 16-18, 1m 16-26, 1m 26-45
Tilmon, p. 86, 1m < 10, 1m 16-18, 2m 16-26, 1m > 45
Ely ? – Looks like on the same page as Charles, James, and Simpson, not listed in index as a “Harris” but looks like a “Harris” to me, p. 87, 1m 26-45

Of these 9 men, 6 of them - James (p. 87), Joel, John, Joshua, James (p. 91), and Tilmon - had children under the age of 10 which might have been Joseph, b. 1815.

James and Joel filed wills in Guilford Co., NC. So I would look at those wills and see if Joseph is mentioned as a child/heir. Copies of these wills can be ordered from the North Carolina State Archives, or you might be able to find a volunteer to look up the wills, copy, and mail to you.
