My great Uncle puts me in confusion! I know from his marriage and death records that he was born in 1879 in Silsden Moor, Yorkshire, England and that his father's name was Samuel. He married Clara Day
16 Nov 1931 and on his marriage certificate it lists his occupation as a retired Flour Mill Manager.

They lived at Rose Orchard, Battledown Estates, Cheltenham after during their marriage and he passed there 13 Feb 1953.

A local Historian who lives by Rose Orchard did a small piece, which I have not personally seen and he said the obituary had his father as Thomas.

I cannot locate a birth for thomas so I am unsure if his parents were Samuel Rishworth (1843) and Jane Hindle. I do know that Clara worked for a Hindle as a servant and that there is a connection to thomas as either an aunt or mother with the name Hindle (a letter clara wrote her her father)

Thomas was quite wealthy and retired early. He owned many paintings and ceramic art and about 1/2 were donated to the Cheltenham museum at his death (emailed museum, but no response). I had been briefly in contact with a cousin still living in the area whoes mother was left his estate at his death since they had no children, but alas seem to not be interested in giving up vital information! I am frustrated!

Anyone willing to give it a go!? I have stopped searching since it all seems to me to be a frustrating blur!!

The death record does not give me where he was buried or took care of his body, I had hope to be ablet o get this kind of info from living relatives. I would assume he was buried in Cheltenham. Cemetery Office - is this a central place or do I need to contact every cemetery in Cheltenham. I did email the cemetery in the area my received nothing in return.

I am in Canada so calling around would indeed become very pricey for me so I have not resorted to it but am very close.

I had once called the museum and my info was taken down and i have heard nothing back for a year. I have followed up with emails but nada.
Nope obituary obtained. the Historian did not have, just a short transcription. So I keep plodding on. hoping to stumble on info that will help.
