I am looking for information on my great-grandmorther Mary O'Connor.  She gave birth to my grandfather on Nov 9'1903 in Dorchester MA at St. Mary's Womens and Infant Asylum.  Mary was not married and was not able to keep her son.  Both Mary and baby went back to her aunt's house in Charleston MA at 31 Austin Street.  Her aunt was Mrs. C. Kelly.  Supposedly Mary was from Charlestown but family stories also indicate she was from providence, RI  When Mary was at in the hospital she known as Nellie and was 14 yrs old.  Family stories say she was sixteen.  When my grandfather was about 2 yrs old he was taken in by Daniel and Ada Perkins in NH.  The story goes that Mary would not let yhem adobt her son.  Mary kept in touch with Ada through letters while my grandfather was growing up.  His name was changed to Rudolph Daniel Perkins, but not legally.  My grandfather saw her only a few times as an adult.  Mary tried to establish a relationship with her son but he would not give her a chance.  The only other bit of information that I know is that he was baptized at St. Peters church in Dorchester.  I have called the parish but they have no record of his baptism..My family has beem trying for decades to find information on this side of our family but it has been brick wall after another.  Mary named her son Henry. If anyone has any information at all that they would be willing to share it would be greatly appreciated.    Thank you, Ginny
