Mary O'Halloran (1890) married Truman Cook (1885) in Detroit or Windsor in 1909. Their 1st child was Mary. Other children was Gordon Cook - 1915, William Cook. (who would have die after 1969 in Windsor).

Story goes that the daughter Mary moves to Iowa. Gordon is my grandfather. I know about him. Know nothing about the brother William.

Mary O'Halloran - Cook was called "Grandma Walden" by some step-grandchildren. She was suppose to have lived in the "Taft Hotel" or Taft apartments in Detroit. I can not find any info on the Taft Hotel. I can not find any info on Mary getting married to a Mr. Walden and I can not find any death records for Mary O'Halloran, Mary Cook, or Mary Walden.

I am told she did die in the Detroit area after 1960.

Any help?

Hi Lisa-

I see that there is a Truman Cook on the SSDI, born February 21, 1885 died March 1969, benefits were sent to Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana. Is this Mary O'Halloran's first husband?

Also, in 1930, I see a Truman Cook married to a Florence, in Detroit, MI, he was born in Canada circa 1884. She appears to be his second wife. He lived in his MIL's household (Margaret Dowie). You may already have this, but it shows where Mary, his first wife is not, if this is in fact Truman's second wife.
All above is correct. Truman had several wifes. Florence was his 3rd. Mary O'Halloran was his 2nd and I have to search my records to tell you the name of his 1st wife!
Yes, I read his comments and agreed. I did talk to a fellow at the MI state archives...and he did tell me he did have records for my family. This was a few years back.

From what I recall, He told me he was unable to release to me or for me to view because I have no court order to view them.

My girls are napping now, so I will have to read up on the FOIA and move again in that direction again!

I feel like the dog is chasing his tail.....

Thanks again for all your help to date!
Yes, I have this.

The older Mary Cook is Mary O'Halloran. The younger Mary is the Mary who was suppose to have moved to Iowa.

Mary and Truman had 2 other children: Gordon and William. I have records that they had another child who died as an infant. The above pictures of William's wedding show William, Gordon, and the girl who I believe to be Mary (the younger one).
