I'm sure most if not all of us have many brick walls. I started off with one brickwall ancestor that I am especially curious about and who I think my family would be interested in finding out about as well (since it was rumored that he was a Catholic priest, although little is known about him, he has been talked about); I also chose this ancestor because I think I actually have a decent lead on him and just need more proof. But of course there are others. Three in particular come to mind; all are challenging, one has still not been convincingly broken down by the researchers of this family line, and one is especially complicated (multiple marriages between family members, people possibly related to each other in more than one way, and a suspected illegitimate birth). I don't want to overwhelm everyone with my brick walls, but of course would like them broken down too. Should I post more right now, or not?

Sure, go for it. The Priest story sounds interesting
Thanks! That's actually the one I started with (see the James Graham discussion). Once again I am up way too late and have to get to bed soon, but can try to get them all posted this week if people are up for the challenge!
They all sound interesting; and you may be surprised how each of the brick walls inter-related-at least mine do. I've always felt that if I broke through one of my "walls", I'd probably find a gate through the others.
I agree, at least in most cases. The last one I mentioned (the especially complicated one) actually involves members of four different extended families, but everything is so interrelated that it would make sense to post them together (otherwise infomation that could help would be missing or I would end up repeating information in several different posts).

I'm not sure the other two are related to the complicated one, and I doubt the James Graham brick wall is related, because he was an ancestor on my mother's side of the family and the other three brick walls are all on my father's side.
