George William Turner was b. Feb. 1860 at Missouri and d. 27 Mar 1932 at St. Joseph, Washington Twp., Buchanan, Missouri. He m. Delilah Catherine Toothman on 26 Jun 1886 at St. Joseph, Buchanan, Missouri. They had a total of eight children, with five living on the 1880 census. I have been told that there is a relationship with the Crosswhite’s, possibly cousins, but I can’t find anything yet.

With all this information, one would think I could find his parents. But, alas, NO! There are 80 George W. Turners born in Missouri in 1860, then add a year on either side and it’s well over 100. After checking all the states census records, I still cannot find his parents or any siblings if any.

I have been looking at ALL the Turner’s in Missouri systematically , one by one, eliminating families. I even thought I had a great possibility, only to find it wasn’t my George :( I am thinking of the possibility that his parent’s may have died and left him and hopefully some siblings, with others.

Grandpa Turner never knew his grandparents and on George’s death cert. Ukn is listed for both his father and mother, with his daughter providing the information. No one in the family talked about this side of the family, as they didn’t have much information.

Any ideas? This is my paternal direct line, so I really would love to know more.
P.S. I’ve checked for wills, probates, land records, anything I can think of to find his parents. I have also posted this on the Most Wanted page. I need all the help I can get:)
