I have a major brick wall in Jasper County, Missouri. I seem to have lost my GG Grandfather Leroy P Gibson's family, it's not like they weren't well known back in the early 1800's...he just fell between the cracks. We know that Tryon Gibson is related in someway, just not for sure how...Leroy's wife Sarah Onstott was the sister of John D. Onstott b 19 Oct 1818 judge and prominent citizen of Jasper County. (need his date and place of burial) I have found the marriage certificates for all the Onstotts except Sarah Onstott b 1821 Jackson, Jasper, MO and Leroy P Gibson b 1822 Tennessee. Another relative by marriage was Thacker Vivion. Surely someone out there has some family story handed down about the Gibsons, Onstotts, Vivions and White or other allied families that went to Texas around 1850 and settled in Goliad, Texas. Any assistance would be gratefully accepted.

can anyone from jasper CO talk here?
Sure, maybe something will come of a discussion about Jasper and our ancestors.
have a question about the Civil War days in Jasper CO. My Jasper CO Fuller family was confederate, GG Grandfather was killed in Yellville Arkansas, don't know where he is buried. The widow and 6 kids all go to live with her father in AK, but return years later to the family homestead in Jasper CO. Were the confederate families forced out of MO after the War, but able to come back later?
