I am researching the MICHEL surname in Germany. I believe my grandfather, Henry (Heinrich) MICHEL was born in Reichenau in August of 1855. ?Any tiops on how to do effective research in that area would be greatly appreciated.

Hi all.

I am researching on my mother's side the Michel name from Germany. They immigrated in the late 1800s to the San Francisco Bay area. My greatgrandfather is Hugo Michel married to Fredericke Nehlsen. They had 7 children.
