Hi All,

I have a success story to tell.

When I send out my hello/welcome message on the 12th I had a reply from a man who lives in the UK. He mentioned a family member who came to Australia about "20 or 30 years ago, unfortunately, we all lost touch with them after a little disagreement in the family. I'd really love to make contact again one day before it's too late."
I offered to see if I could find anything after being given a name, possible date of birth and the fact that this relative had been in the RAAF and received a medal.
Within 10 minutes I had found who I thought might have been this person, and sent a message saying "could this be him".
A reply came quickly "Spot on, Anita! Didn't realise he was given his father's first as his middle!"
A little more research by me and I sent another message - this time with a possible address and phone number here in Australia.
The reply I received yesterday brought tears to my eyes:

"Just spent over an hour chatting with my Uncle John who is alive and very well at the age of 72 (nearly). Wonderful, swapping stories and memories. We'll keep up regularly now. And ALL THANKS TO YOU. Cannot begin to say how much I appreciate your help, without which I wouldn't have made contact."

Let's add all our wonderful and satisfying true stories to this thread. It's just so good to know why we enjoy being involved.
