The company support, responsiveness, and free updates initially got me excited about Legacy. I love the To Do List, the Chronology View, the Research Guidance, mapping, etc. I'm also excited about the future of Legacy. I've also become one of the "family favorites" because of the birthday reminders - I never forget anymore.

What do I like about legacy? MRIN and File ID and the ability to tie them together to keep track of hard copy files. I have checked every other program and Legacy is the only program you can do this with.
Love the fact that I can personalize the look of the software and data to my needs. The overall flexibility.
I love the user support people. Have you ever had a problem recently where you actually get a real person and a message not computer generated? This company is great for real people help and assistance. Also, legacy is very user-friendly. I really like the source templates. Great program.
I love the customer service and responsiveness to customer feedback, the SourceWriter templates, the ease of navigation and the way that there is always more than one way to do pretty much anything.... But then, it's actually harder to think of things that I don't like about Legacy.
I just posted a blog post about why I love Legacy. You can read it here: http://tr.im/rWUj
So, Geoff, when will I be able to add "the interface to New FamilySearch" as one of the items I like best about Legacy?
The answer to this question might be the entire list of features but I'll try to narrow it down some. At the top of my list is the search feature and custom reporting. I used FTM for many years and spent a lot of time thinking "I wish I could get a list of _______". I no longer have to wish. The To Do List has also become one of my favorite things. I'm about to take a research trip with several cousins. As we made our plans and discussed what we need to accomplish, I entered everything in the To Do List so we are ready to hit the ground running. Also high on my list would be web page creation, the many options for the many reports, the ability to make certain events or notes private, advanced tagging, sourcewriter, locations & mapping . . .
My favourite feature is the ability to add the relationship to a person and the flexibility for the main screen (Family view), your not constricted with information you don't want to see also the flexibility of the index list, so nice to be able to see at a glance who the spouse of a person is without having to go into the main program,. Legacy is one of the best programs I've found and like other reviewers I have tried them all but keep coming back to Legacy for the ease of use and the adaptability of the program..
My favorite Legacy feature is something Legacy apparently no longer does - automatically set and display relationships when you enter a new record. It seems like this one disappeared one or two major updates ago, and has never been fixed. I still love Legacy and will probably always use it, but I'd love it even more if this feature was again available.
I like their great chart printing service. It is so easy to order a chart straight from the software :-)
I am currently attaching all my genealogy related photos to everyone in my tree...I love. love, LOVE the picture center that allows me to do multiple attachments. It is really easy to see how much thought went into creating all aspects of the program.
1. Sourcing!!!
2. Mapping
3. Ease of use.
4. Geoff's way of explaining things!
