You are probably aware that your John Hubbard is a descendant of George Hubbard (1601-1685) of Middletown, CT. If you need it, the line is at the following site:
http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=tazhu...

I'm interested in the descendants of this John Hubbard that you have and would like to include them in the database "Descendants of George Hubbard of Middletown CT and Related lines. This is an ongoing effort by me to identify as many descendants of Middletown George Hubbard as possible before I croak.

Regards
Craig Hubbard

Craig - don't croak yet, we've got work to do :-) John Hubbard and Anna Kent Hubbard had 6 children - Maria b 8 Mar 1818 d. 12 Dec 1869 who is my relative. I also have John Harrison b 1815, d 1854, Hiram Clinton (who you already have ), Mary E. Hubbard b 5 Jan 1821 (who married a Burlingame), Harriet b 1823 who married a Letterman or Leatherman, and Julia Hubbard. Maria married Aaron Bailey II on 20 March 1836 in Putnum County, Indiana. Aaron & Maria had Laura Ann Bailey (my ggrandmother) b 17 Nov 1846 in Hanover, Cook Co., IL and 3 boys (2 were in the Civil War) Aaron Francis Bailey, Andrew Clinton Bailey, and William Harrison Bailey. Laura Ann Bailey married Wilson Marcellus Dent and my Grandmother was their daughter Minnie Bell Dent who married Earnest Bernard Boudrou. I have lots of data, some pictures of the Aaron Bailey family. If you are on Ancestry, i do share my research. It would be great to fill in the blanks for me too! The Bailey's are also Rev. War decendents through Daniel Bailey Sr. of Hollis, NH.
Thank you Terry for your info. I will include it in my database and have a go at gathering any additional info which I will share with you.
Craig
Hi Craig. I'm looking at your data base! Nice work. I have some different dates for Ruth Barnes that I thought you might want to look at. I show her birth as 28 Dec 1730 from a Connecticut Birth Records source and their marriage date (to Nathaniel Hubbard) as 12 Feb 1752. The marriage date lines up with the birth of their first child. I have mine files on Ancestry - do you have access? Let me know what you think
Terry
Thank you for the correction. Yes, I have an Ancestry account.
If you ever want to correspond directly my address is:

Great. I think my sister Sandra also sent you something in the last couple days. She's very good at catching my errors and making me be more attentive. I get excited and sometimes go too far without documentation. She's been doing it a long time and communicates with lots of our more distant relatives. I'll send you an email directly with my return address. It's good to have someone to work with!
Hi, Hiram Clinton Hubbard was my 2nd great grandfather, John Knowland Hubbard was my great grandfather and Charley LeRoy Hubbard m: Mila Smith were my grand-parents. They lived and are buried at Clark, SD There were Baileys at Clark I believe- related?? My e-mail is gmonson@sbtc.net
Saw this post and delighted to find another connection to the Hubbards. I am in the line of Major John's son, Dr. John Hubbard. Hiram Clinton Hubbard was his son. I have been working on Dr. John and his wife Anna Kent for many years and hopefully we can help each other out! I have very little about his wife, Mary H. Wilcox. I have a marriage date of 29 June 1840 in LaPorte Indiana. Is that correct? As to a death date for Hiram, I only have 25 July 18??. His children: Edwin Baxter Hubbard, Francis(Frank) Emery, John Knowland, Emily, Mary, & George. Those are my questions to start with....do you have any?

Sandy in WA state and sister to Terry Wages (on this site)
Hi Sandy, I just started working on my mother's family and you probably have more than me, but it looks like Hiram and his sons and wife Mary E (according to the patent ?not Mary H) homesteaded land in Ottertail County, MN. http://www.glorecords.blm.gov/PatentSearch/Results.asp?QryId=83166.08 These records say Mary E was widowed when the patent was received. I have Hiram as died in 1880 and Mary as died in 1884, so that would work. I have Hiram C Hubbard in Hanover, Cook, Illinois in 1850 b: abt 1825, born in Georgia?? with Mary b: abt 1830 and Edwin B Hubbard b: 1848. In 1860 I have them in Canoe, Winneshiek, Iowa with Hiram b: abt 1825. If the 1825 is right, I think 15yrs may have been too young to get married, and Mary would only be 10. If the 1850 census is the right one and Edwin was born in 1848, I would think the marriage day would be closer to then as she would have been 18, but I'm just speculating here. The Clark County History book has a article about the Hubbards with a picture of John Knowland's family and my grandparents. I can send you that later. My grandfather Charles was married to Mila Smith here-- http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~illinoiswebbers/s... The Clark information says that the Hubbards lived about 10 miles from Wadena, MN. That is in Medina Co., but right on the Ottertail Co. border. It says they set out for the John Bailey place in Dakota territory. I have Hiram's burial as Wadena Cem. and I don't know where I got that, but that would seem logical. I may call the counties in MN and see if they would possibly have these burials, I don't see them on the Dalby database which covers cemeteries in MN http://www.dalbydata.com/user.php?action=cemsearch I'll continue to work on this this winter and let you know anything I have. It's nice to have someone to ask. I think I got a lot of info from the Boudrou family tree at ancestry. My mother died in 2003 and I am just starting to go through her information, so I may find more?? GM
Hi, I just found this in the Clark Co. book. John Bailey son of Wright and Harriet (Codling) Bailey married in 1860 Julie Ann Hubbard a native of Indiana. I believe she was a daughter of John Hubbard 1786 – 1867 and Anna Kent 1790 – 1845. I can send this Bailey info later also, GM
Hi,

I checked my files and I have that information too.

Hi Gary,

You're correct that it is Mary E. not Mary H for the wife of Hiram Clinton Hubbard.

Birth in Georgia is wrong for sure. I believe he was born in Indiana.

I had found him in Ottertail and thanks for the patent! That's good information seeing that Mary was a widow. I copied it out for another source.

Guess what. This year I also heard from another relative of John Knowland! She is related: He is her maternal great great grandfather/Wes = GreatGrandfather/Ralph = Grandfather/. Do you know her yet? I found her when I saw the article and picture that she had put out on the internet that you referred to "Mr and Mrs J K Hubbard Celebrate 62nd Wedding Anniversary Friday." What a wonderful find that was! From the information she sent me, I just put them on Find a Grave and sent them to you.

Glad you found our information at the Boudrou site on Ancestry that my sister, Terry and I have done. I work on all the kids in each family as sometimes through them I find what I am looking for and that way I never run out of things to search for (ha ha as if that could ever happen!)

I agree that the marriage date that we have found must be wrong. It must be closer to 1848. Hope we can clear that up. Sandy
Thanks for the picture, Sandy. I'm enclosing some cemetery info in case you don't have it. I'll send more later, Gary
