I have a book that traces that surname back to Lodowick Hoxie who is credited in the book with being the common ancestor of all persons surnamed HOXIE, as variously spelled. I t is entitled The Hoxie Family Three Centuries in America by Leslie R. Hoxie and published in Ukiah, Oregon in 1950. I have only verified The line that relates to me and my immediate family. I will be happy to share information from this book with one and all if you do not have access to a copy.
